BACKGROUND
Our main fundraising events include a magazine drive, phonathon and an annual dinner & auction. Funds raised through these and other activities are directed by the Local School Council’s budget and priority.

In the past years, these funds have been used for many worthy activities. A few of the areas we support include:
- Library updates and enhancements, including books
- Assisting the music and band programs
- Technology including hardware, software, maintenance and training
- Hands-on teaching supplies, including art and science materials

FOL believes these efforts give our students every possible advantage within the arts, literacy and technology, keeping them up-to-date with other city & suburban schools. The school, which has been in existence for over 130 years, continues to prosper as one of the top elementary institutions in Chicago. We believe that an excellent school reflects upon the quality of its neighbors and the community.
