PHONATHON The Friends of Lincoln Annual Phonathon is typically this organization's largest fundraiser. It is a critical event that raises money for the children of Abraham Lincoln School. It works so well because we have little overhead and the donations made by the families of the school go directly to the kids. During the Phonathon we ask each family both through the mail and then later with a personal phone call to donate what they can to help us maintain the richness of the educational experience at Lincoln. We understand that families come to Lincoln with diverse economic levels however each dollar donated helps us. Through the many individual pledges, we have consistently been able to raise enough to fund programs at Lincoln that COULD NOT exist without the money YOU give. These programs include: the art program, the Band and Choristers, many of the books and supplies in the library, the computers in the children's rooms plus the mobile computer lab, the math calculators, hands on science equipment and even the air conditioners in the classrooms. These do not have funds provided for through the CPS system and yearly the money the Friends of Lincoln raises allow these to occur. Can you imagine Abraham Lincoln Elementary without these? The Phonathon success helps to ensure the continuation of it all and is dependent on families pledges to be successful. You can donate at anytime of the year by filling out the form and sending it to the Friends of Lincoln with a designation of “Phonathon” on the pledge. Remember that your donation is entirely tax deductible. Please also inquire into whether your company has matching funds. Many companies such as Sarah Lee, Leo Burnett, Time Warner to name a few have matched gifts by families here, doubling the donation of the family. Thanks again for your continued support.
