In 2021 the Department of Cultural Affairs funded extensive restoration work to historic sites throughout Lincoln, which included foundation work and interior plaster for the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista.  Now this historic church is facing another serious problem. The bell tower is beginning to lean which threatens the integrity of the entire structure. Restoration is estimated to cost $250,000.
